The mætherial collection is a unique 4x4 set of special Smoochies. This project is about experimenting with textures, colors and surfaces. Each Smoochies in the mætherial collection comes from a particular area within the ethereum metaverse and representing their own elemental belongings and origin.
Smoochies Maetherial collection has been sold for 212.5eth ( $ 956, 154 ) at the Hong Kong Poly Auction house.

Smoochie - Lethal
Backstory:
Lethal is a Smoochie that lives in a distant future of the crypto-verse. Lethal is a shapeshifter: It has minted its eyes through the Ethereum blockchain and uses them to apply laser-focus on the evolution of the NFT art technology – one of the many superpowers used by front soldiers in the NFT revolution.

Backstory:
Ceramica comes from an ancient time. It has withstood the sands of time and lives to tell the story of Ceramics. Ceramica is embodied with the famous White and Blue pigments seen in Fine China and has been given the final regal touch of an invaluable gold. Ceramica represents heritage and legacy.

Backstory:
Siddhart is inspired by the 1922 novel of the same name. This Smoochie, just like the tale, explores Buddhist themes and explores the spiritual journey of self-discovery. Siddhart’s eroded and scratched surface illustrates the complexity of the path to finding one’s true self.

Backstory:
Mariko is a love letter to the mother of Andreas Ivan, the creator of ‘Smoochies’. Mariko is designed with textures that originate from a 1997 painting called Cache Cache, which is an iconic artwork from the long-lasting career of Mariko, Andreas’ mother. Collectors regard this work as her most well-known piece.

Backstory:
Punkie is a symbol of the Punk movement sweeping through the NFT metaverse. In a time where Punks are the most iconic representation of NFT collectibles, Punkie serves to immortalize the collectible period of NFT history. Backstory:
Funkie is one of the only five Smoochies that are accompanied by creatures that roam our world. On the surface, Funkie is colourful and attractive. However, like in the world of insects, sometimes the most colourful are also the most dangerous or poisonous. Funkie exists to remind us not to judge a book by its cover.

Backstory:
Lignum, derived from the Latin word for wood, is a Smoochie that portrays the stillness and peacefulness of nature. Although the nature surrounding Lignum is peaceful, it is in fact struggling for life. Perched on Lignum’s head is a bird that is ready to build a nest, but there are no trees on the horizon.

Backstory:
Wavy’s contrasting but intertwined waves of black and white provide commentary on how we often perceive our lives. Is the glass half full or half empty? Is Wavy half black or half white? Here lies not the answer but the process of our thoughts to understand our own beliefs.

Backstory:
Astro belongs to the space realm but represents more than just the skies above. The reflection on Astro’s helmet depicts the final ray of sunlight bouncing off the dark side of the moon, which Astro explored in 2019. He reflects our human curiosity of finding the unknown.
